Phnom Penh is a beautiful capital of Cambodia lying at the junction of the Bassac, Mekong, and Tonle Sap rivers. Throughout the course of the year, Phnom Penh enjoys hot tropical weather with the heaviest precipitation falling between September and October. Due to many years of French colonization, the city now is a delicate fusion between Western architect and traditional design. A leisurely walk by the riverfronts will lead you through the glorious Royal Palace with the breathtaking Silver Pagoda, Emerald Buddha and making a pit stop at the Victory Monument. To dick in the dark part of Cambodia, a trip to Tuol Sleng (the Genocide Museum) and Killing Fields is a must. Although the experience can be upsetting, it is an eye-opening and mind-broadening experience.
