Day 1: Hanoi arrival

Welcome to Vietnam! You will be warmly welcomed by our guide and driver at the airport and transferred to your hotel in the city center of Hanoi. Then, you will have some time for your own.

Day 2: Hanoi City Tour
  • In the morning

Today, your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel to begin your exploration of Hanoi City. You will first visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a monument honoring the great leader Ho Chi Minh, along with the nearby One Pillar Pagoda and his ancient house. After spending about two hours at these sites, you will continue to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university, dedicated to Confucius (Khong Tu).

  • In the afternoon

After enjoying a local lunch, you will head to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, which highlights the 54 officially recognized ethnic groups in Vietnam. You will spend about two hours exploring the museum before being transferred back to the Old Quarter to visit Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple. Finally, you will sit in front of a Cyclo to move around the Old Quarter and experience the local life in 45 minutes.  You will overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3: Hanoi – Sapa – Cat Cat village

Begin your journey to Sapa with a scenic drive through small villages and mountainous terrain, offering stunning views of the valley. Around 13:00, you'll arrive at your hotel in Sapa, check in, and then meet your guide, who will take you to a local restaurant for lunch.

  • In the afternoon

You will trek downhill to Cat Cat village, enjoying the beautiful landscapes along the way. Upon reaching a waterfall and a hydroelectric station, take a short rest before continuing your journey on a dirt trail through the picturesque rice paddy terraces. You will overnight in Sapa.

Day 4: Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai – Ta Van
  • In the morning

You wll start trekking along the main road down to Muong Hoa Valley, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the town and the valley. You will soon reach Y Linh Ho hamlet, a small village of the Black Hmong people. From Y Linh Ho, continue along the river to Lao Chai village, where you can visit local families and hear your guide explain their culture, including traditional house-building techniques, clothing-making methods, and local healthcare practices.

  • In the afternoon

We leave Lao Chai to continue to Ta Van village, the Giay people's residence. The guide to bring you into some family: listen about their life, enjoy some green tea, learn about the differences of their culture from the other hill tribes even they leave close to each other. You will overnight in Sapa.

Day 5: Sapa – Silver Waterfall - Heaven Gate – Hanoi
  • In the morning

Transfer to Silver Waterfall and enjoy a short walk to the waterfall before continuing your drive to the Heaven Gate of Tram Ton, the highest road peak in Vietnam. From the Gate, take in the stunning views of Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina.

  • In the afternoon

It's time to return to Hanoi. You will overnight in Hanoi.

Day 6: Hanoi – Ha Long bay/ Lan Ha bay
  • In the morning

You are transferred by a speedboat/ tender from Indochina Sails’s Tuan Chau Pier to Indochine Cruise. Enjoy your welcome drink while listening to the cruise brief and safety instructions.

  • In the afternoon

The crew will take you to explore the Dark and Bright grotto, also known as Bat Cave, famous for its stunning limestone formations and unique natural habitat. Enjoy a relaxing experience kayaking or taking a bamboo sampan ride guided by locals through the tranquil tunnels. Afterward, return to the cruise for a refreshing swim in the bay before setting sail for about 30 minutes to anchor for the night.

  • In the evening

Attend a Fruit and Vegetable Carving Lesson led by our Head Chef, who will demonstrate traditional Vietnamese food decoration techniques. After the lesson, enjoy a set menu dinner. In the evening, participate in fun activities, including board games like cards or Parcheesi, or try your luck at squid fishing on the boat with assistance from the crew. You will overnight on the cruise.

Day 7: Halong – Sung Sot Cave – Hanoi – Flight to Danang – Hoi An
  • In the morning

Start your day with a Tai Chi lesson on the sundeck, followed by a visit to Trung Trang Cave on Cat Ba Island with the cruise crew. Afterward, you'll have 30 minutes to freshen up and finish packing, ensuring you collect all your belongings and leave heavy luggage outside your cabin. Then, enjoy a brunch in the restaurant, settling your bills afterward. Relax on the sundeck or in the restaurant while taking in the beautiful bay scenery as you approach the pier. Finally, arrive at Indochina Sails’s Pier at Tuan Chau Port.

You will attend on your flight to Danang this afternoon. You will overnight in Hoian.

Day 8: Hoi An – Hue City Tour – Imperial citadel – Hoi An
  • In the morning

Let's begin your journey to Hue. There, you will visit the Imperial Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City, built in the 19th century for the Nguyen Dynasty emperors. After your tour, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant featuring Hue cuisine.

  • In the afternoon

In this afternoon, you will have the chance to take a short drive into a lush valley of the river where seven tombs were built for seven Nguyen Emperors. We will visit Khai Dinh Tomb to help you understand more Royal’s Life and their architecture. You will overnight in Hoian.

Day 9: Tra Que village - Hoian Walking tour
  • In the morning

You will start your day by riding your bicycle to Tra Que village, with a private car available if you cannot ride a bike. You will be introduced to the village's history, the cultivation of vegetables, and their use in traditional Vietnamese medicine. Then, you will take a trip around the vegetable garden and join the farmers in preparing the land, fertilizing it with seaweed from the local lake. You will continue with activities such as raking, sowing, watering greens, and picking greens before spending the rest of the morning working the land in the traditional way. After finishing all the activities, you will take a break and prepare lunch with a local family. You will enjoy lunch in a local house featuring many delicacies, including Tam Huu spring rolls and Banh Xeo, the local pancake from the central region.

  • In the afternoon

Now, let's ride back to Hoi An town to start discovering this World Heritage site. You will be introduced to the many delights of Hoi An, from expert dressmakers and tailors who can craft a complete outfit for you in just a couple of days, to a dawn photo trip along the river. You can also enjoy a fun visit to Hoi An Local Market, followed by exploring small alleys to see the Chinese Assembly Hall, the famous Japanese Covered Bridge, Tan Ky Ancient House, and the Chinatown across the canal. As you wander through this unique port town, you’ll find yourself captivated by every corner.You will overnight in Hoian.

Day 10: My Son sanctuary – Danang – Marble Mountains – Hoi An
  • In the morning

This morning, begin the scenic one-hour drive to My Son, where you'll explore the fascinating ruins and learn about the various structures and their historical significance. You will also discover why My Son is considered one of the most important Hindu complexes in Southeast Asia, and enjoy a captivating Cham Traditional Dance Show during your visit.

  • In the afternoon

You will visit Marble Mountain and take the elevator up to Thuy Son (‘Water’ Mountain) for panoramic views of the surrounding countryside (climbing is available upon request). You can explore Huyen Khong Cave, where you’ll be rewarded with stunning city views and see a beautiful Cham Buddha seated under a natural shaft of light. At the foot of the mountain, you will visit Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village, where skilled local sculptors create marble products that are exported worldwide. You will overnight in Hoian.

Day 11: Lantern making class - Flight to Ho Chi Minh

After breakfast, you will visit the home of a local lantern craftsman. There, you will participate in a hands-on workshop to learn the traditional art of lantern making. You will bend the frame and select the cloth to build your own lantern from scratch, which you can take home as a perfect souvenir to showcase your craftsmanship to friends and family.

  • In the afternoon

Depending your flight time, you are picked up at hotel and transferred to airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh city. You will overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.

Day 12: Cu Chi Tunnels – Ho Chi Minh city tour
  • In the morning

After breakfast, you’ll meet our guide in the hotel lobby and be transferred to the Cu Chi tunnels. This site is renowned for its 200-kilometer-long underground network, constructed by the Vietcong during the Vietnam War. Visiting the tunnels offers a unique opportunity to reflect on Vietnam's wartime history and understand how the country defended itself against invaders.

  • In the afternoon

Start your afternoon by visiting the War Remnants Museum, which showcases the evidence and consequences of the war's impact on Vietnam. Next, visit the Central Post Office, one of Ho Chi Minh City's oldest buildings, featuring a captivating mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and French architectural styles. Finally, explore Notre Dame Cathedral, a symbol of the vibrant city, located downtown and standing at an impressive height of 60 meters. You will overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.

Day 13: Mekong Delta – Cai Be – Overnight in homestay

In the morningToday, you will travel to Cai Be district to visit Tân Phong Island, where you can bike or walk along village paths to experience local daily life, including orchards, schools, churches, pagodas, and traditional houses. Along the way, you can stop to see how locals weave dried water hyacinth into various products like baskets, bags, hats, and shoes, and enjoy tea while listening to traditional music in a local garden. Next, a rowing boat will take you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals for a peaceful experience, with lunch served at a homestay or on the boat.

  • In the afternoon

Don't forget to check in at Út Trinh, Út Quỳnh, or Út Bình homestay and enjoy a biking trip around the local village. Afterward, you can take a refreshing shower before cooking some special dishes with the members of the local family. You will defenitely enjoy dinner at their homestay. You will overnight in the homestay.

Day 14: Mekong - Ho Chi Minh City
  • In the morning

Make sure to go out for a walk along the village to enjoy the fresh morning air, arriving at a local workshop to see how rice paper, coconut candy, and pop-rice are made. Enjoy some sweets with a cup of hot tea. Then, embark on a boat trip to visit the brick kilns, where you can watch local artisans create beautiful pottery from clay, and see how catfish are farmed on the Mekong River. You can also visit Vinh Long market in town, a great spot for photographing fish, shrimp, crabs, tropical fruits, and vegetables.

  • In the afternoon

After lunch, you will start come back to Ho Chi Minh city. You will overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.

Day 15: Ho Chi Minh Departure

Depending on your flight time, our driver picks you up at your hotel and transfers you to the airport for your departure flight.
