Wellness tourism, coupled with journeys into nature, is a burgeoning trend on the horizon. On the afternoon of September 8th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Magazine, hosted an enlightening seminar titled "Wellness Tourism: Trend of the World and Vietnam” as part of the 2023 International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City.
During the seminar, Mr. David Le, the Founder of Authentic Asia, shared his perspective on the current landscape of wellness tourism. He emphasized that existing wellness tourism offerings may not be compelling enough to draw visitors in. He highlighted the need for wellness products that facilitate a "disconnect" from technology, utilize eco-friendly materials like wood, stone, and bamboo sourced locally, and place a strong emphasis on minimal environmental impact.
Mr. David also chimed in, suggesting that Vietnam should intensify its promotion and marketing efforts for wellness tourism on the international stage. He proposed leveraging advertising, communication, and various forms of diplomacy encompassing culture, sports, and economics. Simultaneously, he recommended the creation of more distinctive products based on available resources and local culture.
Mr. David, who also owns two resorts, Panhou Resort and Whale Island Resort, has been steadfastly steering his tourism endeavors towards a sustainable wellness-oriented direction. His two resorts, located in Ha Giang and Khanh Hoa, were meticulously designed to harmonize with nature, featuring low land use density and employing environmentally-friendly materials to preserve the surrounding natural landscapes. The staff members are locally sourced and well-trained, possessing an intimate understanding of their homeland, which enhances visitors' wellness experiences, aligning seamlessly with the rhythms of nature. These resorts offer an array of wellness services that combine elements of nature and local culture, including spa treatments, yoga classes, natural mineral springs, and herbal baths inspired by ethnic minorities. Over the course of more than two decades, Mr. David Le has laid the foundation for sustainable practices that benefit both nature and the community, providing guidance and inspiration to other tourism businesses looking to embrace wellness tourism.
We Authentic Asia take immense pride in our continued support and promotion of resorts such as Panhou Retreat and Whale Island Resort as part of our recent tourism offerings. Furthermore, our travel experiences are enriched with opportunities for exploration and deep immersion in the embrace of nature. We firmly believe in the rejuvenating influence of nature, which has the ability to cleanse both body and soul, guiding individuals towards a harmonious and tranquil state of being. It serves as a means to reset and replenish our vitality after enduring life's challenges and tumult, fostering a genuine appreciation for our well-being. Through these endeavors, Authentic Asia aims to provide a diverse range of options to partners and, at the same time, convey the significance and relevance of wellness to domestic and international tourists alike.
