Myanmar Essential guide: Detailed Guideline For Visa Application
Wed, 02/05/2020 - 11:09
Myanmar travel involves a great deal of preparation and the visa application can be deemed as the most complicated as the country seems to be off the radar of mass tourism. However, you can save yourself from the red tape if you get the right information. With more than 10 years operating in Southeast Asia, we would like to share the easiest way to have your passport stamped with Myanmar visa.
Burmese Visa Exemption
Yes, Myanmar does have a visa exemption for quite many countries since it is a member of ASEAN, one of the most powerful transnational organizations in the world. If you are ordinary passport holders of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, you are eligible for visiting Burma within 14 days without a visa. However, the entering and the departing ports are restricted to Yangon, Mandalay, or Naypyidaw International Airports only.
As for Singapore nationals, the maximum length of stay without a visa is 30 days. Another bonus for Singapore passport holders is that they can get in as well as exit Myanmar in all International Checkpoints. Such a privilege if you are a Singaporean!
If you are not coming from Southeast Asia, don’t worry, the visa exemption list still goes on as the visa exemption Pilot Program has been extended until September 30th, 2020. According to the program, the Japanese, South Korean and people with either Hong Kong or Macau passport DO NOT need a Burmese visa for a 30-day visit and will be able to enter and exit from all International Checkpoints.
